Aries
(March 21 - April 19)
Your February Horoscope
Life will look exceptionally bright as February dawns! Last month's frustrating
delays will soon recede into history, as Mercury, the planet that keeps the world
spinning properly, moves forward to speedy direct orbit on February 1. You likely
experienced a host of frustrating delays last month, but those will be over once
and for all.
In your career, you have become a force of nature. Think back to the very end
of December 2008 or the start of last month. It appears you may have heard of
a job opening that you wanted to pitch, and you may have had a chance to do so.
Just as you were building momentum, everything stopped abruptly, but now that
Mercury has regulated its orbit, things will start up again and you will get another
chance at that spot, or another one. Either way, it will be something special.
Pluto is now at the very top of your chart, shining like a beacon of light and
directing the fullness of its rays to your house of career success. Even if scientists
have started to refer to Pluto as a dwarf planet, astrologers know that Pluto
is one of the most powerful planets of our solar system.
This tiny planet spins on the very precipice of our solar system, and as the planet
moving on the outer edge of the circle, Pluto remains in each house of the chart
it visits for a very long time. In your case, Pluto just recently settled into
your tenth house of career success in late November 2008, to stay 15 years. While
Pluto remains with you, he will tutor you on precisely how to become a force to
be reckoned with in time.
Here's a case in point. On Friday, February 20, when Pluto and the Sun will be
at perfect angles, you'll find all the right words to impress a top VIP. Make
that the day for a star interview or presentation, or for making a risky proposal!
With old man taskmaster Saturn still in your sixth house of everyday assignments,
however, it is clear your company has streamlined staff in a cost cutting effort,
and you don't have the subordinates you need to get the job out without doing
a lot of extra work that probably requires you to stay late.
If you change jobs, the same situation will be at play, so there's no avoiding
this kind of situation. Once you get to late October 2009, when Saturn is due
to leave, this situation will improve. In the meantime, being a resourceful soul,
you'll be able to harness new technology to help you do your job in less time
and at lower cost. With Saturn in perfect angle to Mercury, your productivity
will continue to astound everyone in your path.
This month you have a cluster of planets twinkling in your eleventh house of friends,
contacts, acquaintances, groups, communities, and humanitarian efforts. Right
off the bat, this says you'll be out and about exchanging lots of ideas with others
- both with people you know and some you don't. Among those new faces there will
be some people you might want to get to know better.
In December and during the early part of January, if you applied for a new job,
you were smart to take a formal approach by presenting your experience in a resume.
Now, a new year has dawned and you will need to adjust your approach if you are
to garner Jupiter's help. What you know will no longer be as important as whom
you know. From now on, you will need to look through your database and network
effectively. You probably are already doing this - I will urge you to kick up
your networking a notch.
In your eleventh house you now have Mars (your ruler and planet of action), Jupiter
(gifts and luck), Mercury (news and discussions), Neptune (vision, creativity,
and spirituality), and the Sun (authority figures and leadership). This is the
same place that the new moon eclipse occurred on January 26.
With so many planets in Aquarius, the sign of humanitarian causes, you may decide
to make a difference to a community effort or charity. You may join a new organization
or get active in one you have already joined. In fact, you may even run for office
in the club you belong to - and win. Or, because Aquarius is a digital sign ruling
all newly invented forms, you may build a blog or website that encourages discussion
and comment from many others. If so, this would be a great idea because this part
of your chart, the eleventh house, is where your greatest personal growth will
take place in 2009.
You seem tired of the same old gang that you've been hanging with in recent years
and are eager to add new faces to your circle. I should qualify that statement
- you aren't tired of your friends, but you wish you had some new ones to add
a little spice and difference to your life.
Making new friends will be critical to your progress in the coming year, for the
new people you meet now will expose you to new interests as well with introductions
to even more new and interesting people. So strong is this trend that you may
even decide to move to a new city if you feel you won't be able to get fresh stimulation
where you live now.
One of your best periods to watch will be from February 10-14, the dates when
Mars will move over critical degrees of the solar eclipse that occurred last month,
on January 26. On one of those days, an exciting opportunity is very likely to
come up that will be brought to you through the kindness of a friend.
Your best day of the month may well be February 17, when Mars, your ruler, joins
Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. These two planets will meet in your hopes
and wishes sector (eleventh house), so news you've longed to hear for months,
or even years, may suddenly materialize. It's a day you'll want to dance on the
tables, so use it for your biggest and most important initiations.
Now let's turn to the subject of love, which will be a big focus this month too,
thanks to the appearance of the lunar eclipse February 9. Eclipses are very different
than most other aspects you'd receive - they bring news and information that you
need to protect yourself. They always work on your behalf, but sometimes we misread
the events and think they are "bad" when really nothing could be farther
from the truth.
If you've been dating one special person seriously and are in the love, your relationship
will reach a decision point at the lunar eclipse on February 9. Eclipses are extremely
powerful events and often bring on life-changing events. If you are ready for
a true-blue commitment, this Valentine's Day may bring sudden plans for a wedding.
If you are already married, an eclipse in child-oriented Leo could make you feel
ready for a baby. In this case, the eclipse will bring you nothing but very good
news!
Eclipses bring a floodlight of sudden truth, however, so there's an equal chance
that the news might distress you, but only if your partner has not been straight
with you. This is the house of love, so if you feel betrayed by information that
is revealed, you may break up. Eclipses often bring this type of startling black-and-white
situation.
Things often go to the extreme because any eclipse's mission will always be to
keep you moving forward with full disclosure. Neptune will be very active, which
is the only reason I mention the possibility that news you have not had previously
could come out - usually that means upsetting news, but of course, not always.
If your sweetheart has been keeping a good secret, you may be elated. Actually,
with so many planets in air signs - air makes your fire element of Aries burn
more brightly - the chances are good that you will like what happens.
Eclipses almost always focus on what has been happening all along, over past months
or even years, but sometimes an eclipse will bring a new person to your life,
and in this case, it could be the introduction to a new person. Watch whom you
meet near February 9, a full moon lunar eclipse in your house of true love.
Avoid a knee-jerk decision, however, for this full moon eclipse will be directly
opposed to Neptune, suggesting that some facts may be obscured. Alternatively,
Neptune's position may point to a deception on the part of your lover, a friend,
or both, and suddenly be revealed now. More information will be forthcoming in
the weeks ahead.
Venus will move into Aries and will make your charm and beauty very visible. Usually
Venus remains for four weeks, but due to this year's usual orbit of Venus, lucky
you, Venus will remain in Aries until June. This alone will put you in the catbird
seat. If you have to leave your partner at this eclipse, be comforted in knowing
your memory will be haunting and thoughts of you will linger long after the door
has latched behind you.
Your best romantic dates of the month: February 4, 7, 9 (wild card), 14, and 16-18.
Treat yourself to a short, relaxing trip away at any time after the lovely new
moon, February 24, but make it a retreat or spiritual rejuvenation. Make reading
your favorite best seller, or having a massage, the most important "to do"
note on your agenda. The last week of February will be ideal for a restful time
away.
While your schedule slows down a notch, you will have time to tackle a habit that
you've wanted to quit but so far have not. It likely was one you said to yourself
has to end, but the sooner you do, the better. The new moon on February 24 will
bring you to a point that psychologically makes you ready.
You need not do everything alone. You might want to join an online support group
of people who have the very same goal as you - don't underestimate the possibility
that someone will say something that will resonate. Planets elsewhere in your
chart in Aquarius suggest a digital community could be a wonderful help.
All the best to you, dear Aries!
Summary
You will love February, for it's one of your strongest months of the year for
progress on many levels.
First, your career progress will be strongest in the first half of 2009, so you
will want to keep looking for a job if you are not happy in the one you have now.
You will have quite a bit of professional luck in February - it could turn out
to be your best month of the year for news.
You will need to change your job hunting tactics, however, from now on. Until
now, you were smart to file a polished resume and to schedule a traditional in-office
interview. Now, however, to push your name to the top of the list, you will need
to show superb references. The better your contacts, the more likely you will
win the job you have in mind. You need to socialize more so that you can meet
people in authority under more relaxed social situations.
If you have no real contacts, you may want to consider joining a professional
club. It could be a professional organization or the alumni club of the where
university you earned your degree. It could even be a purely social club, one
you enjoy going to and that has several members you look forward to seeing. One
or two of the friends or casual contacts you know can now help you get ahead,
so don't be hesitant to ask.
You may also want to start to attend trade shows and professional seminars, for
with Jupiter in your house of groups, you'd make some very good new associations.
Before you go, print up business cards for yourself if you don't have any.
Pluto will remain at the very top of your chart for the coming 15 years, a sign
that if you assert yourself there is almost no limit to how high you can go professionally.
This month, on or near February 5, when Saturn and Uranus clash, you may want
to strangle one of your co-workers or subordinates. Someone near at work seems
to be acting quite unpredictably, and you may become concerned that the project
will suffer. You may have to diplomatically take charge and steer things in the
right direction.
The lunar eclipse on February 9 will mark an important moment in your romantic
timeline. You may meet someone new if you are single, and if so, this person is
likely to inspire you deeply. With Neptune active, the person you meet may be
in the arts or deal with creative people for a living.
If you do meet someone new, be careful not to move too quickly as Neptune will
cloud certain facts about your new love interest. As a result, you may be tempted
to fill in the blanks, but those might not be accurate! You will want to meet
this person's friends before getting involved too deeply, but having given you
this warning, I will admit there is a possibility that this relationship could
be a good one. See how you feel.
Your friends will be very helpful to you from now on to help make romantic introductions.
If one friend has been promising to make an introduction, accept enthusiastically!
If you are dating and have not been happy for some time, you may learn something
about the behavior of your partner at this eclipse that upsets you. Eclipses bring
full disclosure, and often the news is revealed on its own in an offhand, casual
way, and not through the person in question. In this case, Neptune would reveal
something that has been disguised or hidden from view.
If you are happy, don't be concerned. The surprise your partner has for you may
be a good one!
Actually, with half the solar system in your eleventh house of hopes and wishes,
the scales will tip strongly in your favor, dear Aries! Friends, clubs, and groups
are about to play a very big and beneficial role in your life, something you'll
see evidence of now, and in months ahead.
On February 12, when Mars moves over the same mathematical degree as the solar
eclipse of January 26, you may get good news as a result of a friend's actions
or assistance.
Another very important day will be February 17, when Mars will align perfectly
with Jupiter, bringing you one of your most fortunate days of the year - and your
luck will stem from the kindness of a friend. Both dates mentioned have a plus
or minus tolerance of one week.
In February's last week, treat yourself to a little piece and quiet. It would
be an ideal time to work on ending a self-destructive habit, for the new moon
in Pisces on February 24 will mark the perfect time to turn over a new leaf.
Time for yourself may sound like a dream if you have small children, but if Grandma
or a neighbor wouldn't mind taking care of your children for a few hours, it would
do you a world of good (and the kids may enjoy the change, too)! This will be
a busy month, so by the time you get to the end of February, you'll want to rest
and recharge!
Dates to note:
Mercury turns direct February 1, speeding up your personal and career life dramatically.
Venus enters Aries from February 2-June 6, a very long time. Venus will remain
strong until March 6, when it will weaken in retrograde motion until April 17.
A romantic relationship will bring either joyous news or plans for a breakup at
the full moon lunar eclipse February 9.
Your happiest, most fortunate day for any initiation - news should thrill you
- will be February 17.
Treat yourself to more rest, a spa treatment, or a quiet retreat away any time
after the new moon February 24 appears.
Best romantic dates: February 4, 7, 9 (wild card), 14, and 16-18.
